In April and May 2010, the CJA Task Force completed a strategic planning session to direct and inform the CJA funding process for the 2010/2011 fiscal period. During the planning process, the Task Force identified the need for programs that assist in the specialized training of judges and attorneys involved in the handling of cases of child abuse and neglect to improve outcomes for children.
The Judicial and Attorney Training Program is an attempt to is help professionals working in the judicial system enhance their knowledge and skills to improve the outcomes for child victims of abuse and neglect by conducting training for judges and attorneys on a wide range of topics related to child protection law, legal practice in child protection cases, agency casework principles, services for families and children, child abuse and neglect, and key principles of child development.
